WBSEDCL - Asst Engineer/ Sub Asst Engineer

The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), a wholly owned Government of West Bengal Enterprise, engaged in the business of Hydel Generation, Power Distribution throughout the state of West Bengal with an Annual Turnover of around 10,000 crores and Total Employee strength of about 18,000 and Customer base around 98 lakhs, invites applications from Indian Nationals to fill up the following vacant posts.



Post:
1.Assistant Engineer (Electrical)
Qualification:
Full Time 4 years’ B.E /B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics (Combined) / Power Engineering / B.Sc(H) in Physics with 3 years’ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE / IITs.

2.Assistant Engineer (Civil)
Qualification:
Full Time 4 years’ B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE / IITs.

3.Assistant Engineer (IT&C)
Qualification:
Full Time 4 years’ B.E /B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / MCA (full time) / B.Sc (H) in Physics and B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE / IITs.

4.Sub Assistant Engineer (Electrical)
Qualification:
Full time 3 years’ Diploma in Electrical Engineering from recognized Institute / College duly recognized by W.B. State Council of Tech. Education.

5.Sub Assistant Engineer (Civil)
Qualification:
Full time 3 years’ Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized Institute / College duly recognized by W.B. State Council of Tech. Education.

AGE LIMIT:
Upper age limit 27 years as on 01.01.2012 with relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates of West Bengal for 5 years and 3 years respectively.


RESERVATION:
Reservation for the post under Sl. No. 1-5 shall be made for SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) / Exempted Category / Physically Challenged candidates and for the post under Sl. No. 6-7 reservation shall be made for SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) / Physically Challenged / Ex-Serviceman / Exempted Category / Sports Persons as per the guidelines issued by the of Govt. of West Bengal time to time. SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) candidates from State other than West Bengal have to apply as general candidates. The vacancy against exempted category shall be filled up as per rules of Govt. of WB.

MODE OF SELECTION:
Selection will be made on the basis of performance in the Written Test and Interview. Candidates called for Written Test/Interview shall not be entitled to reimbursement of travelling expenses. The Written Test & Interview will be held in Kolkata only. The written test will cover the tests for General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning, General English and Arithmetic, apart from tests of knowledge in the respective professional subjects and streams like IT / Civil / Electrical / HR / Finance etc.
