Ministry of Earth Sciences is looking for eligible candidates to fillup the following posts to work in its
programme on Seismicity and Earthquake Precursor. The posts are purely on contract basis for a period of
three years, extendable on year to year basis. Selected Candidates will be evaluated on year to year basis and will be granted extension only on satisfactory performance after each year. The details of posts to be filled are given below.
Post:
Project Scientist ‘C
Essential:
(i) Master’s Degree in Geology/ Geophysics/Seismology with first class (60%) from a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) 5 years experience in teaching (at graduate/post graduate level) or research and development in eismology / earthquake related studies supported by scientific publications.
Project Scientist ‘B’
Essential:
(i) Master’s Degree in Geology/Geophysics/Seismology with first class (60%) from a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) 3 years experience in teaching (at graduate/post graduate level) or research and development in
seismology/earthquake related studies supported by scientific publications.
Research Associate
Essential:
(i) Master’s Degree in Geology/Geophysics/Seismology/Physics/ Computers from a recognised University or equivalent.
Or
(ii) Doctorate Degree in the relevant subject or area of specialization.
(iii) 3 years experience in Research and Development or in Academic Institutions supported by publication
Research Fellow
Essential:
(i) Master’s Degree in Geology/ Geophysics/Seismology/Physics/ Computers with first class from a recognised University or equivalent.
Personal Assistant
Essential:
(i) Graduation from a recognised university.
(ii) Stenography speed at 80 w.p.m. in English
1. Registration will start on the interview date from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM No candidate will be
allowed to attend interview after Registration time. Interviews will start from 10:00 AM onwards.
2. Reservation: As per GOI norms. However being a contract position, if such candidates are not
available, the same will be treated as unreserved.
3. Venue of Interview: Ministry of Earth Sciences, “Prithvi Bhavan”, Opposite India Habitat Centre,
Gate No.-2, Lodi Road, New Delhi – 110003.
Age Limit: -As indicated against each post. Age relaxation to the employees of GOI and SC/ST/OBC
as per GOI norms. Age relaxation may also be considered in the case of exceptionally deserving
candidates. The candidates seeking age relaxation must produce the Caste Certificate in Original
and an attested copy of the same
All candidates are required to bring the original documents related to educational qualifications,
date of birth, work experience, caste etc. Duly attested copies of all the documents must be submitted
with the Bio-data. One self attested recent passport size photograph should be pasted in the appropriate
place in the application form.
