The Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi has first indentified Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh for implementation of the National Mental Health Programme with the Manpower Development Component Scheme. The following vacancies are required to be filled up,
on contract basis, which are funded by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, for PG Seats in the Department of Psychiatry, GMCH, Chandigarh. The breakup of vacancies, is as follows: -

Qualification:
MD (Psychiatry) from Recognised University/Institution with 10 years experience in the profession after
acquiring Postgraduate qualification out of which 3 years should be as Reader/Associate Professor from a Recognised Medical College/Teaching Intuition.
Associate Professor
Qualification:
MD (Psychiatry) from Recognised University/Institution with 04 years experience as Assistant Professor/Sr. Lecturer from a Recognised Medical College/Teaching Intuition.
Clinical Psychology (RCI)
Ph.D/M. Phil (Clinical Psychology) from Recognised University with 04 years experience as Assistant
Professor/Senior Lecturer from a Recognised University/Teaching Institution.
Psychiatric Social Work (University)
Ph.D/M. Phil (Psychiatry Social Work) from Recognised University with 04 years experience as
Assistant Professor/ Senior Lecturer.
Ph.D/M. Phil (Psychiatry Social Work) from Recognised University with 03 years Teaching/Research
experience in the profession after Ph.D/M. Phil from a Recognised Institution.
Ph.D/M. Phil (Psychiatry Social Work) from a Recognised University/Teaching Institution
Ph.D/M.Sc. (Psychiatry Nursing) from Recognised University with 04 years experience in the profession
after acquiring Post Graduate Qualification as Assistant Professor from a Recognised Institution.
The above posts are temporary in nature and will be filled up by engaging a person, on contract basis only, initially for a period of one year or till the services are required, whichever is earlier. It is also made clear that it is an engagement for a fixed term and shall automatically cease on the expiry of the term without providing any claim to a person so engaged to any regularization of service or any consequential benefits.
RESERVATION AND RELAXATION:
The reservation and relaxation in the upper age limit will be made only for the category of the posts reserved for such categories, as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
