Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of “Project Assistant” under the following research project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.



Title of the Research Project:
Biophysical and Biochemical Studies of the Mitochondrial Outer Membrane Proteins VDAC-2 and Om14.

Qualification & Experience: M.Sc. degree in any discipline of Life Science from a recognized University/Institute. Preference will be given to those who have cleared NET(CSIR/UGC)/NET(LS)/ICMR. An aptitude for learning new techniques in biophysics is a must. Only applicants with prior experience in handling membrane proteins will be considered for this post.
Age Limit: Applicant should not have completed 28 years of age at the time of application.
Duration:
One year (Extendable to up to three years, subject to satisfactory performance).
How to apply:
The application should contain a detailed résumé, photograph, and at least two names and contact details of referees. The CV must highlight research experience acquired in handling membrane proteins and must be accompanied by a ½-page write-up on specific experiments carried out with membrane proteins. Clearly mention the advertisement number in the subject line. Incomplete applications or those that do not meet the minimum criteria will not be considered. No communications in this regard will be entertained. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview; notifications to these candidates will be sent on Dec 15, 2011 via e-mail. Photocopies of certificates/mark sheets and other testimonials will be collected at the time of interview.
