Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the project entitled “Modeling and simulation of viscous fingering instability between two miscible fluids in liquid chromatographic conditions”, sponsored by Department of Science and Technology(DST), Government of India, under the supervision of undersigned. The Position is temporary and is available immediately. It is possible for the selected candidate to register for Ph. D. program upon qualifying the eligibility criteria as
per existing institute rules.


The aim of the project is to develop a suitable numerical method to solve a hydrodynamical instability situation appearing in liquid chromatographic separation and analyze the results. Experience in numerical computing, fluid dynamics and programming skills in C++ or FORTRAN and knowledge of Matlab software will be given priority in the selection process

Eligibility: The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:
Master degree or equivalent degree in any branch of Mathematical Sciences/Physical Sciences with 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale) with valid GATE score or should possess valid certificates in one of the national entrance tests such as NBHM/CSIR/UGC NET.
OR
Master degree (MSc/ME/MTech) or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering,
OR
BE / B Tech or equivalent degrees in Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering with valid GATE score.
OR
Equivalent degree/qualification from any foreign university.

WALK IN INTERVIEW
Candidates having the above qualification are invited to appear (along with a brief Bio-data and all the original certificates) for a walk-in- interview before the selection committee on 3rd December 2011 at 2 PM in the Dept. of Mathematics, IIT Ropar. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Please note that the post is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project.
