In continuation to the above Advertisement inviting applications for filling up of 25 (twenty five) posts of Jr. Grade of State Civil Service as Under Secretary and equivalent, this is to inform all applicants that 02 (two) posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police under Police Department have been included for combined examination as per the following Roster Points.
Post:
DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE
Qualification:
Graduate Degree from a recognised University. Other
Essential Requisites:
1. Candidate must be in possession of either Sikkim Subject Certificate or Certificate of Identification issued by the Competent Authority under relevant orders of the State Government.
2. Should have valid employment card.
3. Should be conversant with the customs and usages of Sikkim.
4. Should have knowledge of any of the State languages.
The post of Deputy Superintendent of Police carries the pay scale in the Pay Band-2- 9300-34800 and Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- and the post of Under Secretary & equivalent carries the pay scale in the Pay Band-2 – 9300-34800 and Grade Pay of Rs. 5000/- .
The pattern of Examination and the syllabus for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police will be the same as notified earlier for the post of Under Secretary and equivalent.
There will be combined examination for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Under Secretary and equivalent.
The Candidates willing to opt for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police are also required to undergo Physical Endurance Test as specified below. The candidates are required to qualify in all the events of the Physical Qualification Test. If they fail in any one of the events they will be treated disqualified for Deputy Superintendent of Police post.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATION TEST
100 meter race (one chance) - 16 seconds for males (Maximum time).
19.5 seconds for females (Maximum time)
1500 meter race (one chance) - 8 minutes for male (Maximum time)
9.5 minutes for females (Maximum time)
High Jump (3 chances) - 1.10 meters for males (Minimum height)
0.85 meters for females (Minimum height)
Long Jump (3 chances) - 3.60 meters for males (Minimum distance)
2.60 meters for females (Minimum distance)
Short put (3 chances) - 5.30 meters (16 pound weight) for males
(Minimum distance).
4.2 meters (12 pound weight) for females
(Minimum distance)
There is no separate Application Form for Under Secretary and Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Those candidates, who have not submitted application so far, can submit their application before 4th of January, 2013 (Friday) till 03:00 p.m. Application form can be downloaded from www.spscskm.gov.in The form should be filled up by the candidate himself/herself and submitted in the office of the Secretary, Sikkim Public Service Commission, Old West Point School Complex, Below Police Headquarter, Gangtok on any working day between 11:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m. on production of original Bank Receipt of State Bank of Sikkim, for Rs. 150/- credited to ‘0051-SPSC’. The amount so deposited shall not be refunded
or adjusted against any other purpose.
Further, in view of the decision of the State Government the following subjects have been added in the list of Optional Subjects prescribed for the post of Under Secretary and equivalent under Section 3 Part B & Part C of the earlier advertisement.
1. Electronics and Communication
2. Computer Science & Engineering
3. Mass Communication & Journalism , and
4. Tourism Management.
Further, the candidates willing to opt any one of the above mentioned subjects as optional subjects for the main examination are also advised to visit the office of the Commission latest by 4th of January, 2013 (Friday) till 03:00 p.m. for corrections of their subjects in their application forms already submitted.
The syllabus for the newly added subjects shall be made available in the Sikkim Public Service Commission website www.spscskm.gov.in very shortly
