It is hereby notified that under Article 233 of the Constitution of India read with the provisions of the Karnataka Judicial Services (Recruitment) Rules, 2004 and (Amendment) Rules 2011, the High Court
of Karnataka proposes to recommend 17 (SEVENTEEN) members of the Bar for appointment as District Judges by Direct Recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications:
i) Must be holder of a degree in law granted by a University established by law in India;
ii) Must be practicing as an Advocate in the High Court or in a Subordinate Court on the last date fixed for receipt of Applications and must have so practiced for a period not less than SEVEN years as on such date.
AGE: Must not have attained the age of Forty-Eight years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes and Forty-Five years in the case of others, as on the last date fixed for receipt of Applications.
PROBATION:-
A candidate selected will be initially on probation for TWO years or for extended period, if necessary, and he/she must undergo such Training as may be specified by the High Court.
EXAMINATION FEE:
The Fee prescribed in respect of competitive examination payable by each candidates shall be Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) but, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I the fee payable
shall be Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only). The fee should be remitted into any of the State Government Treasuries under the Head “0070-Other Administrative Services-01-501-0-03- Examination Fees” and the original Treasury receipt obtained thereof should be sent along with the application. Applications received without such fee receipt shall be rejected. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
Those candidates called for Viva-Voce will have to appear before the Recruitment Committee in the premises of the High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore, at their cost.
Duly filled up application along with the required documents should be kept in a cover super-scribed as “ APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DISTRICT JUDGE” and submitted by tendering it in the office of the Registrar General, Principal Bench, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore-560 001, or by Registered Post, so as to reach the office of the Registrar General, Principal Bench, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore-560 001, before 2.00 pm., on 31ST DECEMBER 2012. Applications received after the prescribed date and time will be rejected.
