IIT Kharagpur - Junior Technician/ Junior Laboratory Asst

IIT Kharagpur invites applications from Indian Nationals for following posts on contract basis to fill the backlog reserved vacancies for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs):



1. Junior Technician:
Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 pattern) in Chemistry / Physics / Geology & Geophysics / Mathematics / Bio Science or equivalent OR Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field.
Wiremen License / Permit issued by Chief Electrical Inspector / Competent Authority of respective State is essential for candidates with electrical specialization.
Desirable: Experience and knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance and handling of sophisticated instruments.

2. Junior Laboratory Assistant:
Qualification & Experience: Bachelors Degree (10+2+3 pattern) in Chemistry / Physics / Geology & Geophysics / Mathematics / Bio Science or equivalent OR Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field.
Desirable: Experience and knowledge in computer application, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance and handling of sophisticated instruments.

3. Junior Assistant:
Qualification & Experience: Graduate in any discipline (10+2+3 pattern), Computer key depression speed equivalent to 40 WPM, knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel etc., exposure to Office procedure like maintenance of Files, Noting, Drafting etc. are essential.

1. Upper age limit is 35 years for SC/ST and 33 years for OBCs candidates. The relaxation of age for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is as per Govt. of India Rules.
2. Candidates should submit their SC/ST/OBCs/Disability Certificate issued by Competent Authority in the prescribed format along with the application form, in support of their claim.
3. Persons employed in Government / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous Bodies should submit their applications through proper channel.
4. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University / Institute.
5. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection / interview. Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
6. Experience prescribed may be relaxed in the case of exceptionally meritorious candidates.
7. The Institute reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for interview after shortlisting with reference to the candidate’s qualification, suitability, experience, etc.
8. Incomplete applications or applications without attested copies of certificates or received after the last date are liable to be rejected.
9. Any dispute with regard to the selection / recruitment process will be subject to Courts / Tribunals having jurisdiction over Kolkata.
10. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.
11. To-and-fro rail fare by the shortest route being limited to second sleeper class will be paid to all the candidates to attend interview.
