Kolkata Police - Sub-Inspector/ Lady Sub-Inspector

Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the above mentioned competitive
examination to be held at Kolkata for filling up the posts of Sub-Inspector- 137, Lady Sub- Inspector- 15, Sergeant- 684, which could be revised later on.

Qualification:
(i) Citizenship of India, (ii) A bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University or its equivalent, (iii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from hill areas of the District of Darjeeling).

AGE: Not below 20 years and not above 27 years on 01/01/2012 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1985 and not later than 1st January, 1992). Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC & ST candidates and by 3 years for O.B.C candidates of West Bengal. Upper age limit is also relaxable up to 35 years for departmental candidates of Kolkata Police having requisite qualification. SC/ST/OBC candidates not belonging to the State of West Bengal shall be treated as General Candidates. No departmental candidate of Kolkata Police shall be allowed to appear in the Examination for more than 3 times. (including exams. conducted by P.S.C. & by Kolkata Police for SI/LSI/Sgt Recruitment).
