PPV&FR - Technical Officer & Plant Variety Examiner

The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights(PPV&FR) Act, 2001, provides for establishment of an effective system of plant varieties, the rights of farmers and plants breeders and encourages the development of new varieties of plants. PPV&FR Authority was established under the Dept of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture. PPV&FR Authority invites applications for filling up of the following post for its two Regional Offices at Ranchi & Guwahati on contract basis:


Name of the Posts: Plant Variety Examiner (1 each at Ranchi & Guwahati).
Senior Technical Officer (1 each at Ranchi & Guwahati)

Pay Scale: Plant Variety Examiner ` 15600-39100 (PB-3) with grade pay of ` 5400/-.
Senior Technical Officer ` 9300-34800 (PB-2) with grade pay of ` 4600/-.


Plant Variety Examiner:
Essential: Master of Science Degree in Plant Breeding/Vegetable Science/Horticulture/Medicinal & Aromatic Plants/Forestry/Plantation crops/Tree Breeding/Seed Science & Technology followed by Five Years of Research experience in Research & Development/or Seed Development Programme and Plant Varietal Improvement activities followed by research experience.

Desirable: Ph. D. with at least three years of Research experience in Research & Development/or Seed Development Programme and Plant Varietal Improvement activities followed by research experience.


Senior Technical Officer:
Essential: Post-Graduate Degree in Agriculture Science from a recognized University with specialization in Plant Breeding & Genetics/Biotechnology/Agriculture Botany/Agronomy or other related subjects. Minimum three years experience in Seed Development Programme and Plant Varietal Improvement activities.
