North Eastern Space Applications Centre, Umiam, a Research & Development Organization functioning under the Department of Space, invites applications for the post of Junior Research Fellows under the following projects on temporary basis for a maximum period of one year or co-terminus with the project, from the eligible candidates:
Space Based Information KIOSK on NER: SBIK-NER
Qualification:
BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or IT from a recognized University. Knowledge of GIS/ WebGIS/Image processing softwares, Web technologies tools (ASP.NET, PHP, Java, etc). RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server etc.), Programming languages (Java, C/C++, etc.), System & Networking etc. Desirable : Minimum 1 year experience in the various IT related projects
Runoff response to Land use/ land cover change in the selected watersheds of North East India under IGBP Program
Qualification:
1st Class M.Sc or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science / Forestry / Botany / Geography / RS & GIS from a recognized University. Desirable : Diploma in water resource management / hydrological modeling, experience of working in GIS software Minimum 1 year experience in RS & GIS projects.
Remote Sensing and GIS applications in Agriculture for the state of Assam
Qualification:
1st Class M.Sc in Agriculture / Botany / Forestry / Geography / RS & GIS from a recognized University. Desirable : Degree/Diploma/Certificate in RS & GIS and / or Working experience in satellite remote sensing, GIS, GPS, etc
Study of the catchment area of Ranganadi Hydro Electric Plant through Remote Sensing to assess the status of soil erosion with reference to pcoming projects in the area and silt deposition in the reservoir
Qualification:
B.E in Civil Engineering / M.Sc in Geology / RS&GIS from a recognized University. Desirable : Diploma in application of RS & GIS or working experience in the field of RS & GIS
Tele-Education for NER
Qualification:
B.E/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering or M.Sc in Physics from a recognized University with Electronics as a special paper
Age Limit:
18-30 years as on 21.02.2013. SC, ST, Ex-servicemen and Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders on the subject.
