WII - Technical Asst (M Phil / Phd)

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII), is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India, in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage one Technical Assistant (Indian national only) for its Forensic Cell through a walk-in-interview to be held on Monday, 30th July 2012.



Essential Qualification:
Candidate should possess a Ph.D. Degree in Forensic Science/Animal Genetics/Molecular Ecology/Biotechnology/M.V.Sc. in Animal Genetics with minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualifications:
Work experience in DNA extraction and running electrophoresis etc.

Description of Work:
The Technical Assistant is required to assist in ongoing work related to DNA based techniques.

Candidate for the position of Technical Assistant (TA) should be below 28 years of age as on Friday, 27th July 2012 and the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years, as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped categories.
The fellowship amount for the selected Technical Assistant is Rs. 9,600/- consolidated per month and Rs. 12,700/- in case of NET qualified candidate(s) for Research Fellows (UGC/CSIR).
Engagement on the above position will be purely on a temporary basis initially for a period of one year and may be extended for further period depending upon the requirement of cell.
Selected candidate may be allowed hostel accommodation at the institute, as per availability. Where the hostel accommodation is not possible, house rent allowance (HRA) will be paid as per the rules of the Institute subject to the condition that HRA payable, in no case, shall be more than the rates payable to Central Govt./WII Employee(s) in that area. Other allowances and benefits to the research personnel would be admissible as per the rules of the Institute, amended from time to time.
The selection will be based on the walk-in-interview to be held on Monday, 30th July 2012 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. The registration of candidates will begin by 09:00 A.M. onwards.
