IIT Roorkee - Junior Lab Asst(BSc)

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee invites the applications on the

Junior Lab Assistant (Boiler):
Qualification & Experience:
(1) B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) OR
Diploma in Engineering of 03 years duration in Mechanical Engineering OR ITI with 05
years of experience in the field of oil-fired boiler operation, maintenance of boilers, steam
lines and other related equipment using workshop fabrication facilities
(2) Atleast ‘B’ class certificate of Boiler Attendant from the Directorate of Boiler of State/Central Govt.
The candidates who do not have ‘B’ Class Boiler Attendant certificate but have the
requisite experience, may also apply and in case of selection of such candidate, the
selected candidate will be compulsorily required to acquire the requisite ‘B’ class
certificate in a period fixed by the Institute to become an authorised Operator of the Boiler and he will be responsible to pass the certificate in the fixed period.

Junior Lab Assistant on contract:
reserved for Persons with Disabilities
(Hearing impairment (PD) with moderate degree of deafness varying between 40% to
75%), Duration – One year, extendable upto three years.
Present fixed emoluments – Rs. 10500/- consolidated p.m.
Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent OR
3 year’s duration Diploma in Computer Engineering or equivalent OR ITI with 05 years
experience. Knowledge of computer applications.

Age: The minimum age on the last date of receipt of application for the posts at Sl.No. 1 and 2 to 3 are in between 18-32 and 18-27 years respectively. The relexation of 05 years in age to SC/ST and 10 years in age to Persons with Disabilities candidates will be given as per Govt. of India rules.

1. Other things being equal the eligible applicants for above posts belonging to the
region around Roorkee and Saharanpur will be given preference, for which they
have to attach an attested copy of domicile certificate of that area.
2. Applicants must clearly fill the name of post against which they are applying
alongwith their category in the form clearly. All the attested copies of certificates
with respect to date of birth, experience, qualification etc. must be attached with
the application form.
3. The candidates should send a Bank Draft of Rs. 100/- in favour of Registrar,
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee payable at Roorkee
towards the Application Fee. No fee is required from IIT Roorkee employees,
SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities candidates.
4. Institute reserves the right to fill up the post, not to fill up the posts or cancel the advertisement in whole or partly without assigning any reason. The Institute will also reserve the right to place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for written test/interview. Fulfilment of essential qualifications per-se does not entitle a candidate to be called for test/interview. The decision of the Institute in this regard will be final.
5. Incomplete applications/without relevant supporting enclosures/without
prescribed fee/ application not on prescribed form will be out rightly rejected.
