West Bengal PSC - Assistant Engineer Civil

Applications in the prescribed format are invited from Indian citizens or such other nationals as are declared eligible by the Govt. of India for recruitment to the temporary post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Engineering Departments in the undermentioned services


(A) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS UNDER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
(B) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (IRRIGATION) UNDER IRRIGATION AND WATERWAYS
DEPARTMENT.
(C) WEST BENGAL PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING SERVICE (CIVIL) UNDER PUBLIC HEALTH
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.
(D) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING) UNDER MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS
DEPARTMENT.
(E) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (CIVIL) UNDER PANCHAYAT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT.


The candidates will be selected for the above-mentioned post through a combined competitive examination comprising Written Examination (Multiple choice objective type) followed by Interview. The Written Examination will be held in Kolkata only in February, 2012 or thereabout. Interview of candidates to be selected on the results of the Written Examination will be held in Commission’s office in Kolkata


QUALIFICATIONS :
a) Essential : (i) A degree in Civil Engineering of a recognised University or equivalent qualifications.
(ii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (Not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from the Hill areas of District of Darjeeling).
b) Desirable : One year’s Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience.
