ADMISSION FOR Ph.D PROGRAMME (January 2012 Session))
IDRBT, the premier Institute of Banking Technology in the country, spearheads efforts in providing state-of-the-art technologies for the Banking and Financial Sector. The Institute interfaces Research and Development, Academics, Executive Training and Best Practices


IDRBT now invites application for its full-time Ph.D Programme in Computer Science and
Information Technology [with focus on Banking Technology] for the session starting in
January 2012. The eligibility criteria for the Ph.D programme is as under

1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree in any Engineering / Technology; OR M.Phil in Mathematics or Statistics or Electronics; OR B.E. / B.Tech OR Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics / Information Systems / Internet Technology / Geo-Informatics / Bio-Informatics with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the above stated qualifications (a relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC/ST candidates).

All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities/
institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should
clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.
2. SPECIALISATION
Candidates should have a keen interest to carry out research in one of the following areas of Banking Technology:
 Information Technology in Banking  Electronic Payment and Settlement Systems
 Financial Networks and Applications  Security Technologies for the Financial Sector
 Financial Information Systems & Business
Intelligence
 Financial Inclusion Technologies
 Core Banking System  Alternate Delivery Channels
 Open Source Technologies  Information Security
 Closely Related Areas

SELECTION PROCESS
The Selection Process for admission to the Ph.D programme would consist of:
(i) A Written Examination on December 19, 2011
(ii) Personal Interview (only for the candidates qualifying the written examination) on December 20, 2011
The applications received in response to this advertisement will be scrutinized and the candidates found suitable for the written examination will be intimated by November 25, 2011. The written examination and personal interview would be conducted at IDRBT, Hyderabad.
