Indian Statistical Institute - Project Linked Person

Walk-in interview to be conducted on October 17, 2011 from 12.00 noon at the Machine Intelligence Unit (MIU), 4th floor, Platinum Jubilee Bhavan of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata for one post of Project linked person (Junior Research Fellow) on purely temporary basis in the Machine Intelligence Unit to work in the project titled “Computational Methods for microRNA Target Detection and its Role in Cancer Development” under the Swarnajayanti Fellowship related project sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.


Qualifications
BE/B.Tech/M.Sc./MCA or equivalent in Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Biophysics/ Bioinformatics/ related subjects with consistently good academic record and with good knowledge in computer programming. For candidates with graduate degree in professional courses, GATE or equivalent qualification is required; for candidates with post graduate degree in basic sciences, NET qualification is required.
OR
ME/M.Tech degree in the above mentioned subjects with consistently good academic record and with good knowledge in computer programming


Candidates appearing at the interview will be required to bring their current resume (signed) in English giving particulars of (a) Name (In block letters), (b) Mailing Address, (c) E-mail Address (d) Telephone/ Mobile No., (e) Father’s/ Spouse’s Name, (f) Date of birth, (g) Academic Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination), (h) List of publications, if any, (i) Work Experience, if any, (j) SC/ST/OBC/PH status along with originals and attested copies of all documents/ testimonials.
