CIMFR - PhD in Engineering

CSIR-CIMFR (www.cimfr.nic.in), a national laboratory under CSIR (www.csir.res.in), Govt. of India involves in R&D in mining and fuel sectors for more than 5 decades. The Institute is working in almost 50 different research areas to provide scientific and technological inputs for optimization of mining and fuel science technologies for better safety, economy, conservation and environmental management. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for admission to full-time Research Programme (PhD in Engineering) as per the following


PhD in Engineering Programme

Mining Engineering: A Master's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ or equivalent with a good academic record who have secured Masters degree admission based on GATE score or valid CSIR-SRF or equivalent fellowship.

Fuel Science and Technology: A Master's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ or equivalent with a good academic record who have secured Masters degree admission based on GATE score or valid CSIR-SRF or equivalent fellowship

Research Fellows/Projects Assistants who fulfill the qualifications and are already working at CSIR-CIMFR for a minimum of one year are also eligible to apply. Upper age limit is 28 years as on 01.01.2012 which is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/ Women/Physically Handicapped candidates. The programmes would commence from January, 2012 and include course work with wide choice of elective subjects. Mere fulfillment of the minimum requirements stipulated in the notification would not automatically entitle a person for selection. The decision of the Institute in this regard shall be final.
