Indira Gandhi Medical College - Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor/Senior Resident

The Indira Gandhi Medical College is an autonomous institution of the Government of Puducherry. Applications are invited for the posts detailed below from Indian Nationals fulfilling the MCI regulations of minimum qualification for teachers in Medical Institutions, Regulations 1998. Candidates from Government / Autonomous Institutions will be considered on deputation basis also.



Medical Superintendent:
Essential:
(i) A medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (candidates possessing the qualifications included in Part-II of the third Scheduled should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act).
(ii) A postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
(OR)
(iii) A Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration from a recognized Institution/University or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
Experience:
10 years experience in a major teaching recognized hospital in a senior administrative capacity and of which at least 5 years should be a Medical Supdt / Hospital In-charge/Equivalent post.


Professor (Medical / Non Medical) :
Qualification :
As per the “Minimum qualification for teacher in Medical Institution Regulation 1998” with amendments of Medical Council of India

Associate Professor (Medical / Non-Medical) :
Qualification :
As per the “Minimum qualification for teacher in Medical Institution Regulation 1998” with amendments of Medical Council of India

Assistant Professor (Medical / Non-Medical) :
Qualification :
As per the “Minimum qualification for teacher in Medical Institution Regulation 1998” with amendments of Medical Council of India

Senior Resident:
Qualification :
As per the “Minimum qualification for teacher in Medical Institution Regulation 1998” with amendments of Medical Council of India

1. Candidate called for written test / interview will be short listed on the merit, experience etc.
2. The number of posts indicated above are provisional and subject to change without prior notice.
3. Retirement age is 65 years.
4. Interviews will be held in the month of February 2012.
5. Selected candidates will have to join immediately.
6. Other service benefits like New Pension Scheme, LTC, Medical Reimbursement etc., will be applicable as per Government of India norms.
7. For deputation candidates salary will be fixed as per Government of India norms.
8. IGMC&RI candidates should apply through proper channel.
9. Medical graduates will be paid NPA.
10. The name of the post and speciality shall be superscribed on the envelope.
11. Institute is having the right either to fill up the post or not.
12. Mere fulfilling the eligibility condition will not confer any right to be called for interview / written test.
13. Only one application has to be submitted for Tutor / Demonstrator / Junior Resident post.
14. The institute may also with the approval if Competent Authority choose to appoint such suitable person(s) who
may not have applied in response to this advertisement
