Aliah University, an autonomous Minority Institution of Higher Learning under the Department of Minority Affairs & Madrasah Education, Govt. of West Bengal, invites applications in prescribed form from Indian citizens having knowledge in Islamic Culture within January 30, 2012, for appointment to the posts of (a) Professor, (b) Associate Professor, (c) Assistant Professor, and (d) Lecturer (Temporary) for each of the following disciplines



Item no. (vi): For Professor – Research work of high standard in Islamic History and Culture
Item no. (x): For Assistant Professor – Electronics (M.Sc. in Physics / Electronic Science)
Item no. (xi): For Assistant Professor – Organic Chemistry
Item no. (xv): For Assistant Professor – Computer network, Distributed database, Mobile & Distributed Computing, Advanced Microprocessor, Soft Computing, Computer hardware & architecture, Web & multimedia technology, Data mining, Object Technology & UML
Item no. (xvi): For Assistant Professor – Hydraulics, Structure, Transportation, Environment
Item no. (xvii): For Assistant Professor – Communication (digital, microwave) Engineering, Electromagnetic and Waveguide, VLSI design and Embedded System, Microelectronics

Minimum Qualifications for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Lecturer (Temporary)
Essential:
(1) An eminent scholar with consistently good academic record with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in the concerned/relevant subject from any recognized Indian university/institution with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale) at the Master’s level or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university/institution.
(2) Ph.D. from any UGC recognized University or National/International level Institution in the concerned discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as research papers in peer-reviewed journals of international repute and/or books of national/international standard.
(3) At least 10 years’ experience of post-graduate teaching and/or experience in research at the National / International level University/Institution, excluding the period spent on obtaining the Ph.D. degree.

Age:
Professor: Not more than 50 years as on 01-01-2011
Associate Professor: Not more than 45 years as on 01-01-2011
Assistant Professor: Not more than 37 years as on 01-01-2011
Note: Maximum age limit may be relaxed for candidates who are in permanent service. They are advised to apply through proper channel.
