Applications are invited from eligible candidates for two Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) and one Project
Assistant (PA) for DBT, New Delhi funded Major Research Project on ‘Impact assessment of Jhuming on
native plants and soil microbiota and restoration of sustainable jhum agro‐ecosystem in Northeast
India’. Duration of the project is 4 years.

Junior Research Fellows
Qualification:
The applicants should have good academic records. The essential minimum qualification for JRF is M.Sc.
in Forestry / Botany/ Environmental Science/ Soil Science/ Biogeochemistry or related subjects. Persons
having working experience in soil/plants are encouraged to apply. The essential minimum qualification
for PA is B.Sc. with Science; however, higher qualifications will be preferred. Persons having experience
in soil/plant analysis will be given priority over others.
Salary for JRFs having NET/GATE/BET/BINC shall be Rs. 16000/ + 10% HRA for the first 2 years and Rs.18000 + 10% HRA afterwards, otherwise in the absence of NET/GATE qualification it shall be Rs 12000/‐ + 10% HRA for the first two years and Rs. 14000/‐ +10% HRA afterwards. Salary of the PA will be Rs.8,000/‐ pm.
The above appointment will be purely temporary and co‐terminus with the project. No TA/DA will be
paid to the candidates, if called for interview. The duly completed application together with relevant
